Meet The Team

  • FOUNDER, CEO, & CRAFTSWOMAN

From a young age I have always lived by the principles of health and wellness by eating healthy foods and exercising often, and was always drawn towards a career path that would allow me to aid in the healing and improved wellbeing of others. With that in mind, I sought out higher education and received a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Masters in Public Health, and am currently engaged in health equity research for underserved communities as a health education and evaluation outreach specialist.

It was when I fell ill with an unknown chronic illness that was affecting my nervous system that I discovered the world of herbalism, thanks to my Nana. I took the time to educate myself, and along with making changes to my diet—because everyone has room for improvement—giving more time and attention to my mental health, and by incorporating herbal remedies into my daily routines, I have begun to heal in ways that I never could have imagined. I became inspired to expand my repertoire of wholesome herbal products for wellness and healing after experiencing the powerful healing benefits of herbal teas. I believe in the power of plants and that Mother Earth has an entire treasure trove of herbs to aid in our healing and wellness, in addition to the marvels of modern medicine. I founded Reclaimed Roots Apothecary to bring these traditional ways of healing back into our modern-day lives so that we may reclaim our ancestral roots and heal from within!

  • Co-Owner & Marketing Director

I have always been a creative person and love making art, however, it always seemed like more of a hobby rather than a means to a career. So, right out of high school I went to undergrad at Cal State Sacramento where I double majored and received my BA in Deaf Studies and BS in Women’s Studies. After a 2-year break from schooling upon graduating and not quite knowing my place in the world, I made my way back to school. In grad school I majored in Human Development with a concentration in Early Childhood Education and began interning at a non-profit dedicated to Creative Activism and Impact Media through art, film, technology, and new media. After completing my thesis and graduating in 2021, I have continued working with said organization full-time where I manage our social media, our internship program, and work closely with the VP of Impact Education on various projects and programs. I use my experience with marketing and social media here to share with the world the amazing and necessary work my sister is doing. I believe in the healing power of plants and I believe in my sister, her vision for Reclaimed Roots Apothecary, and our ability to reclaim our health!

Volunteers

  • FINANCIAL ADVISOR

My favorite subject throughout school was math. I always enjoyed numbers and for some reason, math came easy to me. I considered various professions involving math, but my career plans were derailed for a while when I started a family in 1992 and had my two beautiful daughters, Jasmine and Sierra. In 1999, I began working for a non-profit organization centered around early childhood education and have been involved in the field ever since. As my career grew within the field, I began working more and more with numbers and realized once again how much I enjoyed it, so I went back to school to pursue my education in Accounting. Fast forward to now, as Jasmine’s business began to grow, I was able to use my education and experience to help guide the financial aspect of Reclaimed Roots Apothecary. Not only am I a proud mother of two amazing daughters, but I am also a believer in herbalism and a loyal customer of Reclaimed Roots Apothecary.

  • EMOTIONAL SUPPORT PUPPY

Evie is a sweet, mild-mannered, 8 year old Shih Tzu and she’s happiest when she’s with her two favorite people, Jasmine and Chris. She loves attention and saying hello to everyone she meets! Okay, so she’s not exactly a puppy anymore, but she’s just as playful and adorable as one!
